Why the Resource section?
One of the goals of the Christian life is to become mature in the Faith. Paul explains in Eph. 4:7-13 that Christ gives the church various ministry gifts so that, “…we all reach unity in the Faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” In order to reach this end, Christ provides the church various Word ministries (Eph. 4:11) that will, “prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up…“
Our Resource section on our website is one way in which we at St. Peters aim to provide teaching that will 1) prepare God’s people for works of service and 2) help our members reach maturity in the Faith and knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
What Resources do we give?
St Peters has a dedicated team of sound technicians who capture our morning and evening sermons and make them available on our website to download. This is one way in which you can either catch up on sermons you have missed at the services or refresh your memory regarding what has been taught at St. Peters. Uploading sermons and making them available is one way in which we can, “refresh your memory” (2 Pet. 1:13).
Truth-in-life will be a weekly post in which it is our aim to provide teaching on who God is, but also what it means to live for God in day to day life. This is a new initiative that will be launched in April 2015, so stay posted.
Apart from hearing the Bible taught, reading about the Bible is incredibly important and helpful in our spiritual growth. Books often provide insight into God’s Word that we don’t necessarily get by reading it by ourselves. Christians books are companions in our journey in understanding and applying God’s Word. Here at St. Peters we desire to provide our members good suggested books that are worth reading. From April 2015 we are hoping to publish a “Book of the Term”, which will be a suggested book, including a review and where it can be purchased.
