This ministry runs every Monday and Thursday morning from February until the end of November. Volunteers serve 30 liters of soup and 10 loaves of bread to out patients at False bay hospital, as well as giving out gospel tracts and daily readings in various languages including English, Afrikaans, Xhosa, Shona, Chichewa, French and Portuguese. More than 70 St Peters folk are involved in this work, Men and Women who help by making soup, buttering bread or serving. Some do all three. It may seem like a lot of work, but the only commitment we ask is for volunteers to serve once every two months. The patients we serve are always hungry, not only for soup and bread but for spiritual food as well. As this is labour intensive work we are always looking for helpers.
