Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers (Gal. 6:10).This reading makes it clear that we are to do good to all people, especially those in the family of believers. Hunger is endemic in South Africa, so, when St Peters established a bible fellowship group in Masiphumelele, the opportunity to donate nutritious food to needy members attending the weekly teaching was welcomed. Members of St. Peters fellowship groups donate non-perishable food to group leaders who in turn place them in the church to be distributed in Masi. Jeanette Buekes takes stock of every item before being distributed.

Many families as well as single people have benefited from these donations especially in a time of economic instability. We are aware that many more people may be in need in the future – no one is immune from the risk of deprivation, for it is by the grace of God that we have food to eat. “If anyone has material possessions & sees his brother in need & has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?’…’ Let us not love with words of tongue but with actions & in truth” (1 Jn. 3:17-18).
